The Feline Fiasco (and a farewell)

Hey Everyone! I want to introduce my feline kids to everyone (yes, I said feline! Never ever thought I would be a cat owner, but here I am!!).

Two rescue cats came to live with me a few years ago, and I have loved every minute. Can you call me a cat lover now? Absolutely! Bella and Franklin were from separate litters but were at the same rescue together from the time they were both just a few weeks old. Bella’s first forever home fell through at the last minute allowing for both to be adopted together.

Bella (age 5) – The sweetest, kindest (but o’so bashful) cat ever. It took her a while (like years) to get fully comfortable at her new home but now she is a little lover (although she still gets bashful and disappears when people come over). Side note: Tracy is screaming over my shoulder that Bella loves her and approaches her when she comes over hah! Bella loves to wake me up before my alarm by pawing at my face and meowing her sweet meow (at first). If I don’t respond right away, she keeps pawing with a little more claw each time and much more forceful meow - still a better way to wake up than with a blaring alarm.

Franklin - Franklin was an orange cat – need I say more? My favorite thing about Franklin was how he greeted me every morning sitting in the kitchen sink. He was sweet and feisty – always looking for love but then turning on a dime when he was done. He also loved to feed his canine brother, Eli, by playing with the kibble kept on the kitchen table – first knocking the bowl over, then batting the kibble around and off the table for Eli to chase. Unfortunately, Franklin had some type of neurological or cardiac event on May 25 th of this year - he is now being his curious mischievous self over on the other side. I miss my little buddy every day.

As you continue to enjoy the company of your beloved pets, remember to cherish every moment and provide them with the love they deserve. Feel free to share your own pet stories with us. Let’s continue to spread the joy and love that our pets bring into our lives!

xoxo,

Shane
